There are plenty of opportunities to give the special women in your life gifts they will love. Christmas, Birthdays, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day probably top your gift giving list. Gifts for these occasions can be a great way to show her how much she means to you but are rarely a surprise since she is expecting a gift. If you really want to surprise her you should give her a gift when she is not expecting it.

If you are giving her a gift for no reason you might as well have some fun and do it in a creative way. As you probably already know, the way a gift is given can be as important as the gift itself. For example, your gift packaging should impress her before she even opens her gift. Instead of wrapping paper, bows, gift bags or cellophane, why not give her a gift in a keepsake pine box with her name engraved in the lid. 1) Singing Telegram

If you are giving a gift to a woman who you know does not embarrass easy you could send a singing telegram to her office. A quick Google search will take you to singing telegram companies in your area who can be hired to deliver some fun and your gift. Let one of her co-workers know ahead of time so they can record the event for social media, or better yet, come up with a good excuse to be visiting her when they show up and you can film it yourself. This is a great way for you to show her, and her co-workers, how much you love her.

2) Groundhog Day Surprise

Groundhog day happens on the 2nd of February each year and most of us don't even remember. Regardless of if the groundhog sees his shadow or not, we are all tired of winter by February and are looking forward to spring. Why not give her a "Groundhog Day" gift crate with a new swimsuit, sun glasses, flip flops, sunscreen and other fun items that will get her excited for the warm weather.

3) The Girlfriend Weekend Getaway

If you are looking for a fun way to surprise a woman who has a little wander lust, the girlfriend weekend getaway is the perfect idea. Your creativity is only limited by your budget. You will want to coordinate this one well in advance with one or more of her girlfriends. Plan a long weekend trip to a location you know she will love. Contact her boss and ask for a day or two off of work for her but tell her/him to keep it a surprise. On the day of the trip when she wakes up to get ready for work or for whatever she had planned tell her that she needs to pack a bag. Don't tell her where she is going just give her some clues so she can pack accordingly. 6) The Dead Battery

When she opens the hood she will see a note and a jewelry box sitting on the car battery. Be sure to include instructions explaining she will need to reconnect the battery cable so she can get where she needs to go.

7) The Scavenger Hunt

When is the last time you participated in a scavenger hunt? It may have been when you were a kid. You may have forgotten how much fun they can be, especially when a gift is waiting for you at the end. This gift will require a little work ahead of time. You will need to come up with five to seven locations for your scavenger hunt. More than that and she might start to lose interest. Small retail establishments are the best because the employees are often excited to participate. On the day of the hunt you will drop off clues at each of the locations and then you will give her her first clue. She will have to solve each clue which will take her to a location where she will get her next clue. When selecting locations you might want to pick places that are important to her or to the two of you. After she has solved her last clue and she arrives at the destination you can be waiting there for her with the gift. This gift is as much about the experience as it is about the gift itself. 8) February 29th

In 2020 we are lucky enough to have a leap year. It comes only once every four years so take advantage of it. This "extra" day can be turned into a fun way to give a gift. Give her "extra" gifts such as:

Everything should play on the "extra" theme. It will be a day she remembers for at least four years.

9) Yard Signs

After you decide what you want them to say, coordinate with your neighbors to have them set up on her drive home from work or another location.
